MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTERS
Original language description
Diesel particulate filters (DPF) serve to remove soot from diesel engines. Deposition of particles and regeneration of filters can be modelled. The results of simulations include the prediction of ignition temperatures and concentration, temperature andpressure development along the filter. We have developed several gradually more complex models of particulate filters which will be discussed in this paper. The lumped - CSTR - model is based on model of Bissett (1985) and includes the description of kinetics of two types of reactions - the thermal initiated and the catalyzed ones (e.g. Ce oxides based catalyst is added to fuel). The other presented models are more advanced (spatially 1D and 2D). The description of kinetics of soot oxidation by O2 and NOX is disscused, too. Software for solution of the above models will be described and results for various operation conditions will be presented.

Matematické modelování dieselových částicových filtrů
Czech description
Částicové filtry slouží k odstraňování malých částic z výfukových plynů dieselových motorů. Byly vyvinuty různě složité modely k popisu dynamického chování těchto filtrů a k detailnímu popisu tlakových, rychlostních a teplotních polí v kanálcích DPF.
