Synthesis and characterization of chemical robots-bodies from silica and temperature-responsive polymer
Original language description
The first step in the fabrication of chemicals robots is the synthesis of their ?bodies?. In the present work, the bodies were designed as composite particles from a thermoresponsive polymer poly N isopropylacrylamide (PNIPAM) and silica (SiO2), preparedin two ways. (i) Silica particles (3 ?m, 5 ?m) were functionalized by methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPS) with subsequent NIPAM polymerization leading to core shell particle formation. (ii) PNIPAM microspehers coated with silica nanoparticles wereprepared via inverse Pickering suspension polymerization.
