The main goal of this contribution is to draw to readers attention to system theory inconsistent conception of the basic logistics terms, as logistical chain, logistical system, supply chain, supply system and supply net and its influence on system approach implementation. The contribution contains concept of the supply system identification and methodology. Authors determine supply system creation based on two steps:. On the basis of finite customers needs determine all activities, which must be performed for the competitive services level ensuring and only then in the second step to look for with usage of appropriate methods design optimal supply chain structure.
