Traveling-wave electroosmotic pumps driven by non-sinusoidal AC signals
Original language description
This contribution focuses on the influence of the AC driving signal shape on the resulting electroosmotic flow. Non-sinusoidal square waves are built using the Fourier series to emulate a digitalized AC driving. The obtained results are compared againstthe data obtained for the sinusoidal driving. The dependence of the averaged velocity on the AC signal frequency and shape are demonstrated in case of the travelingwave electroosmotic micropump in the zig-zag arrangement. Impact of the signal shape on the micropump performance is discussed with respect to the AC signal amplitude and RMS. In addition, the velocity field response on both the sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal signals is compared during one period of the driving AC field.
