Original language description
The aim of this contribution is to present our experimental results of three complex reactions related to the functional dynamics of biological systems. These reactions are known to provide nonlinear dynamic behavior. Experiments were carried out in batch reactors and in continuous stirred tank reactors (CSTR). We investigated the response dynamics of the hydrogen peroxide-thiosulphate-sulfite (HPTS) flow system and studied enzymatic systems: glucose - glucose oxidase - ferricyanide reaction and glucose- catalase - glucose oxidase - hydrogen peroxide. The experiments are focused on finding dynamical regimes which are characteristic of nonlinear dynamics (excitability, bistability, oscillation or chaos). Connections and analogies in the dynamics of these chemical and biochemical systems will serve as model systems describing functional dynamics of ongoing processes in living systems.
