Original language description
Bubble size distribution and homogenization times were modelled in an aerated stirred tank using CFD software FLUENT 12.1. Accuracy of the population balance models presently included in the software is for studied system very low and requires fitting ofbreakage and coalescence kernels. Introducing of population balances in the calculation is shown to have negligible influence on the course of homogenization in comparison with constant bubble size model.
