This paper deals with estimation of RMSE metrics for real image data. The performance of denoising algorithms is usually evaluated by RMSE metrics. This approach assumes that clear image is available. However, such assumption cannot be satisfied for realimage data. We consider that the noise analysis of the studied imaging system is carried out in the spatial or in the wavelet domain. In this paper, we derive equation for estimation of RMSE using sample moments. We consider that the sample moments in the spatial domain are known from the noise analysis.
