Original language description
Normal EEG patterns require healthy neurone. In pathological conditions cascade of processes changes the way the neurone behaves. Such a neurone loses normal function - coding information into electrical activity. The linear and non-linear QEEG parameteres changes are dicussed from the point of view of mitochondrial dysfunction, membrane and axonal transport damage, synaptic lost and programmed cell death. Both neurohistological and QEEG changes in neurodegenerative conditions are compared to the changes during normal ageing.
