    Sulphite method for the determnination of influence of solid particles on mass transfer.

    The aim of this contribution is to determine the solid particle effect on the mass transfer by the means of sulfite method. The advantage of this method is that it could be applied to the gas-liquid dispersion and provide both mass transfer coefficient kL and specific surface a. These experimental results will allow us to find the effect of particles addition on mass transfer. The separation of mass transfer coefficient provide the insight to the mechanism of particles effect, which could be based on the change of interphase layer properties or changed bubble behavior leading to different specific surface value. Experimental part of this contribution is carried out in mixed, aerated vessel where the catalyzed chemisorption of oxygen in sulfite solutiontook place. The course of this reaction is observed by the means of iodometric titration and measurement of the oxygen concentration in the liquid bulk. These data are used for the fitting of mathematical model which parameters are mass
