Original language description
Transport characteristics such as volumetric mass transfer coefficients kLa, power input P, gas hold-up ? and mixing time tm are the key parameters in the design of mechanically agitated gas-liquid contactors, including draft tube reactors. To design anindustrial apparatus, the values of the key parameters can be estimated using laboratory and pilot plant devices. Our goal is to employ our large experimental database obtained on both laboratory scale and pilot scale agitated vessels to estimate kLa, P,? and tm for industrial scale stirred tank reactor with a draft tube. The comparison of the prediction with the experimental data will show to what measure it is possible to predict the mass transfer characteristics for apparatuses of various geometries, especially what is the effect of draft tube.
