Original language description
The research objective is to determine the microbiological contamination of books using new generation, non-invasive methods (high-throughput sequencing, 16S rRNA, ITS region sequencing, MALDI-TOF MS, RNA analysis) and to determine the effect of three various chemical and physical disinfection methods (silver nanoparticle misting, essential oils, non-thermal plasma) on microorganism growth inhibition. Moreover, after disinfection, the mechanical and optical properties of paper from historical books will be assesed.
