Densimetric and viscometric study of liquid systems alkane plus alcohol
Original language description
New data on densities and viscosities for the mixtures of heptane + pentan-1-ol and octane + hexan-1-ol over the entire composition range at temperatures from 10 to 40 degrees C and atmospheric pressure are reported. The Gibbs energy, entropy, and enthalpy of viscous flow, isobaric coefficient of thermal expansion, the rheochor and Dunstan's parameter, derived from experimental data, are presented as functions of temperature and molar fraction of alkane. The respective excess properties were evaluated and fitted to the temperature dependent Redlich-Kister equation. Except the excess thermal expansivity the excess quantities are negative and their absolute values increase with increasing temperature. All results are discussed with regard to the intermolecular interactions between the mixture components.
