Towards a system theory of rational systems
Original language description
In this paper the reader finds a description of current research in the system theory of rational systems. The research is motivated by the needs of researchers in the life sciences and in engineering for control, estimation, and prediction of rational systems. An overview of existing results is provided. Successively discussed are solved and open problems of: canonical forms for rational systems, the problem of decomposing a rational system, the system approximation problem, control synthesis of rational systems, and computer algebraic problems for rational systems. The discussions are illustrated by academic examples.
