Application of Dynamic Simulation in Planning and Scheduling in Oil Chemistry
Original language description
n this paper we describe an application of dynamic simulation in the planning and scheduling of oil pumping in a system consisting of three refineries and two tank farms equipped with oil storage tanks, into which oil flows from three pipelines. The simulation model of the system is created in the software environment for discrete event simulation Witness with MS Excel support for importing input data and exporting and editing outputs. The model is based on the principles of the general simulation model of material flows in a supply chain. The outputs of the model are used to discuss the possibilities of using simulation for planning, scheduling, and operational control in oil chemistry and to compare the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed solution with methods of mathematical programming.
