Secondary cataract in patients after implantation of multifocal IOLs
Original language description
With the recent rapid development of refractive eye surgery in developed countries, there is a growing number of operations carried out in patients of middle and old age, who come to see the ophthalmologist wishing to get rid of corrective lenses, or atleast dramatically reduce their use. Modern refractive surgery o_ers this option to patients with or without cataracts, thanks to a wide range of in- traocular lens implants. In the Czech Republic, multi- focal di_ractive intraocular lenses have recentlybecome the ones most often implanted. This premium procedure demands not only a high-quality surgeon and patient's cooperation, but also requires a supplementary payment from the patient.
