Analytical and Perceptual Detection of Rustle in Stationary Violin Tones
Original language description
Timbre study of violin tones H3, F#4, C5, G5 a D6 revealed presence of word 'rustle' describing admixtures of tones. Spectral origin of 'rustle' components by tone G6 was found in the frequency band from 230 to 900 Hz. Listening tests exhibited that spectral components of 'rustle' are masked by presence of harmonic signal and are perceptually salient for levels above 30 dB.
