Notes on selected works by contemporary Brno composers for the voice, flute and piano instrumentation
Original language description
This paper looks at some interesting instances of the compositional procedures of five contemporary Brno composers as presented on the newly released ISHA Trio CD. In the piece by Miloš Štědroň we will focus on his use of text by Georg Trakl and Franz Kafka. František Gregor Emmert?s piece dedicated to the ISHA Trio singer calls for a closer look at its melodic structure and its form-bearing role. Listening to Peter Graham?s pieces, one experiences the charm of the unmanifested. We will try to cast somelight on his treatment of classical harmony. The piece by Ivo Medek addresses issues of re-instrumentation and mobile form. With the ISHA Trio pianist and composer, Sára Žalčíková, we will focus on the means she chose to differentiate among individual movement energies.
