Original language description
The contribution presents select results of a larger study on the influence of different voicing adjustments on the sound of a organ pipe. Two types of voicing adjustments (modified cut-up height and windchest pressure) are studied for their effects on the labial air jet in a steady part of the tone using a adjustable and transparent rectangular flue pipe and a laser particle image velocimetry (PIV). Visualizations of the velocities of particles in the air jet are shown and linked to the spectra of the sound and to descriptions of the perceived sound from a listening test.
