Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) as a Tool to Study DNA Condensation with Hexadecyltrimethylammonium Bromide (HTAB).
Result description
The application of fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) in characterizing conformational changes (condensation) of well-defined DNA plasmids is shown. It became clear that the DNA molecule exhibits discrete conformational change between the coil and globule states with the addition of a small amount of cationic surfactant hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (HTAB).
