Li Insertion into Li4Ti5O12 (Spinel): Charge Capability vs. Particle Size in Thin-Film Electrodes.
Original language description
Li4Ti5O12 (spinel) materials were prepared with Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface areas ranging from 1.3 to 196m2/g. The corresponding coverageparticle sizes varied from ca. 9nm. Twenty-five different materials were tested as Li insertion hosts in thin-filmelectrodes (2-4um) made from a pure spinel. Trace amountsof anatase inLi4Ti5O12 were conveniently determind by cyclic voltammetry of Li insertion. Electrodes from nanocrastalline Li4Ti5O12 exhibited excellent activity towards Li insertion, even in changing rates as highas 250.DEG..
