6Li MAS NMR Study of Lithium Insertion into Hydrothermally Prepared Li-Ti-O Spinel

Result description

Open circuit measurement and 6Li magic-angle spinning (MAS) NMR spectroscopy were used to study Li coordination in partly reduced Li1.1 Ti1.9 O4 +d spinels prepared by hydrothermal reaction. The reduced spinels show four different Li sites. Signals at -0.2 and 0.3 ppm correspond to Li in 16d and 8a positions. The signal at 0.9 ppm corresponds to a tetrahedrally coordinated Li and represents the primary site for the inserted lithium. The signal at -0.7 ppm appears simultaneously with a decrease of the population of Li in 8a position and indicates a local phase transition connected with ordering of Li into 16c positions.

    Koordinace Li v částečně redukovaných Li1.1Ti1.9O4+? připraveným hydrothermální reakcí byla studována pomocí 6Li MAS NMR spektroskopie. Redukované spinely vykazují čtyři různé signály lithia. Signály charakterizované chemickým posunem -0.2 a 0.3 ppm odpovídají lithiu v pozicích typu 16a a 8a. Signál u 0.9 ppm odpovídá tetraedricky koordinovanému Li a představuje primární pozici pro lithium vstupující do struktury během redukce. Signál u -0.7 ppm se objevuje současně s poklesem populave Li v pozici 8a indikuje fázový přechod lokálního charakteru, který je spojen s uspořádáváním Li v pozici typu 16c.
