Dataset for the article: Hybridization Directionality Governs the Interaction Strength between MoS2 and Metals
Original language description
This is a dataset supporting the published article on the mechanisms of metal-assisted exfoliation of large-area monolayer MoS2. Metal-assisted exfoliation has emerged as an effective approach for producing large-area monolayers of two-dimensional materials, with gold-assisted exfoliation being one of the most successful examples. While other metals also show promise for enabling large-area exfoliation, their wider application is often limited by oxidation in air. In this study, monolayer MoS2 heterostructures were fabricated on polycrystalline gold, silver, copper, palladium, cobalt, and nickel via direct mechanical exfoliation of bulk molybdenite under controlled atmospheric conditions. The dataset contains the complete set of results used in the publication, including density functional theory (DFT) calculations, Raman spectroscopy, photoelectron spectroscopies (XPS, UPS), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) maps.
