Original language description
The opening of the oxirane ring in 1,6:3,4-dianhydro-2-OTos-.beta.-D-Galwith 2-chloroethanol gave 1,6-anhydro-4-O-(2-chloroethyl)-2-OTos-.beta.-D-Glc, which was converted in 4 steps into 4-O-(2-aminoethyl)-1,6,2,3-dianhydro-.beta.-D-Man. Its intramolecular cyclisation afforded the fused morpholine derivative.
