Podstatou vynálezu jsou isomericky čisté tetradeka-8,10-dienaly, jejich syntéza a použití jako sexuální atraktanty pro klíněnky čeledi Gracillariidae (Lepidoptera, Insecta). Konkrétně jde o způsob přípravy (E8, Z10)-tetradeka-8,10-dienalu a jeho použitíjako sexuální atraktant pro klíněnku jírovcovou (Cameraria ohridella Deschka et Dimic 1985; Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae).
