Nucleoside and Nucleotide Analogues for the Treatment of Herpesvirus Infections: Current Stage and New Prospects in the Field of Acyclic Nucleoside Phosphonates
Original language description
Discovery of nucleic acid antimetabolites including DHPA and acyclic nucleoside phosphonates is described with respect to their clinical potential as anti-herpesvirus agents. New prospects in the treatment of herpesvirus related diseases bound to discovery HPMP-5-azaC and its prodrugs is discussed in detail, as well as clinical potential of HPMPDAP esters against poxviruses or possible utilization of ANP in veterinary medicine for the treatment of animal herpesvirus infections.
