    一般式Iにて示される置換ピリドピロリミジンリボヌクレオシド、当該置換ピリドピロリミジンリボヌクレオシドの薬学的に許容可能な塩、当該置換ピリドピロリミジンリボヌクレオシドの光学異性体、及び、当該光学異性体の混合物であって、一般式I中、Rは独立請求項に記載されている通りであり、好ましくは、Rはチオフェン−3−イル、フラン−2−イル、フラン−3−イル、ベンゾフラン−2−イル、メチルスルファニル、メトキシ、アミノ、ジメチルアミノ、メチルを含む群から選択される。本発明に係る化合物は、多様な組織発生学(histogenetic)由来の腫瘍を含む幅広い多様な疾患における腫瘍由来の細胞株に対して、強い細胞増殖抑制活性及び細胞毒性活性を示す。
