Negative role of the Rep protein, encoded by plasmid pGA1 from Corynebacterium glutamicum, in control of synthesis of positively acting regulatory element Per was shown. Such negative effect of initiator of replication on transcription of distant gene has not been so far described in any plasmid replicating by the rolling-circle mode. It was proved that the palindrome within the per promoter is a target site (operator) for the Rep protein action

Byla prokázána negativní úloha proteinu Rep, kódovaného plasmidem pGA1 z Corynebacterium glutamicum, při regulaci syntézy pozitivně působícího regulačního elementu Per.
