Switching off the endonuclease activity of type I restriction-modification enzyme CoR1241: a potential molecular motor

Result description

Mutations in the endonuclease motif of HsdR subunit of restriction-modification enzyme EcoR124I, which represents a potential molecular motor, were prepared. This genetic modification resulted in the HsdR124I motor subunit not able to cleave DNA but retaining the translocation activity which can be used in nanobiotechnology.
