Oxa1p is a key component of the machinery for the insertion of membrane proteins in mitochondria and its deletion impairs the biogenesis of respiratory complexes. The isolated suppressor Hap4p is able to partially compensate for the respiratory deficiency some oxa1 mutants

Oxa1p je klíčovou složkou při zabudovávání membránových proteinů v mitochondriích a jeho delece vede k respirační deficienci. Izolovaný supresor Hap4p je schopen částečně tuto deficienci kompenzovat u některých mutantů oxa1
