    The FtsH protease slr0228 is implicated in the repair of Photosystem II (PSII) complex. Using 2D PAGE, radiolabelling and immunoblotting we have shown the involvement of this protease in the selective replacement of D1 in the PSII core and subcore lacking CP43. Furthermore, we have found out that the FtsH (slr0228) is also important for removal of non-functional PSII subcomplexes and unassembled PSII subunitss in thylakoids of the cyanobacterium

  • Czech description

    Jeden z homologů proteinu FtsH (slr0228) v sinici Synechocystis je považován za faktor nezbytný pro opravu komplexu fotosystému II (PSII). S použitím 2D elektroforézy, radioaktivního značení a imunodetekce jsme prokázali účast tohoto proteinu v selektivní degradaci proteinu D1 v komplexu jádra PSII i v subkomplexu bez proteinu CP43.Dále jsme zjistili, že protein FtsH (slr0228) je rovněž důležitý pro odstraňování nefunkční subkomplexů a nesložených podjednotek PSII v thylakoidních membránách sinice
