    The production of antibiotics is accompanied by decrease in protein synthesis that raises the question of how these bacteria survived the transition from primary to secondary metabolism. Translating ribosomes incapable to properly elongate or terminate polypeptide chain activate bacterial trans-translation system. Abundance and stability of the tmRNA during growth of Streptomyces collinus and Streptomyces griseus producing kirromycin and streptomycin, respectively, was analyzed. The level of tmRNA is mostly proportional to the activity of translational system

    Produkce antibiotik je provázená poklesem syntézy bílkovin. Tento fakt vyvolává otázku jak baktérie, produkující antibiotika přežívají přechod z primárního do sekundárního metabolizmu charakterizovaného vysokou hladinou antibiotik, které inhibují syntézubílkovin. Ribosomy neschopné elongace nebo terminace polypeptidových řetězců aktivují bakterialní trans-translační systém jehož podstatnou součástí je transfer-mesenger RNA(tmRNA). Zjistili jsme, že aktivita a stabilita tmRNA je úměrná aktivitě translačního systému
