In several stress-responsive genes in Corynebacterium glutamicum, multiple promoters were identified, which are recognized by primary or by stress-responsive sigma factors. Modified promoters have been used for the construction of strains producing aminoacids, e.g. lysine and valine. Thus, coordinated alterations in gene expression and enzyme activity gave rise to the producer strain with the maximized balanced metabolic flow towards valine
