Probiotic Lactobacillus casei and paracasei strains affect production of cytokines towards anti-allergic response
Original language description
We observed that the mixture of L. casei and L. paracasei strains significantly enhanced TH1 response, compared to single strains, in supernatant of cultured whole blood of allergic children and enhanced IFN-gamma production and reduced pro-allergic cytokine IL-5 when administrated to mice. Colonization of germ-free mice with lactobacilli mixture inhibits the development of allergic immune responses on humoral as well as cellular level.
