The effect of probiotic Escherichia coli strain Nissle 1917 lipopolysaccharide on the 5-aminosalicylic acid transepithelial transport across Caco-2 cell monolayers
Original language description
Lipopolysacharide from the probiotic Escherichia coli strain Nissle 1917 did not influence the transepithelial transport of mesalazine, i.e. 5-aminosalicylic acid which is the most commonly prescribed anti-inflammatory drug in inflammatory bowel diseases. Neither the formation and transport of the main metabolite N-acetyl-5-aminosalicylic acid was influenced.
