Ultratrace determination of arsenic by hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry with preconcentration on gold nanoparticles
Original language description
Three types of gold-based materials were tested as potential preconcentration surfaces for arsenic after hydride generation. The best results were achieved for gold nanoparticles (60 nm, 5.5 µg Au), trapping temperature of 350 °C and volatilization at 900 °C. Preconcentration efficiency of 90% was found. The limit of detection reached 6.5 pg ml-1 As (117 pg) for 300 s preconcentration. The modification of quartz surface by gold nanoparticles was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray microanalysis (EDS).
