The Bordetella minisymposium took place on Friday, June 21, 2024, bringing together experts from the Czech Republic and Argentina. The symposium addressed current issues related to whooping cough and possibilities for improving Bordetella vaccines. A significant topic of discussion was the vaccination of pregnant women, which is undertaken by over 70% of women in Argentina, unlike in the Czech Republic, where most women avoid it. The event featured a rich program of lectures and an afternoon discussion in the laboratories of the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences.nnMinisymposium was supported by the National Institute of Virology and Bacteriology (Program EXCELES, ID Project No. LX22NPO5103) funded by the European Union–Next Generation EU.
