This special issue brings together recent knowledge on chitosan and its derivatives, giving a detailed overview of the experimental advances and emerging perspectives on the biomedical future of this important carbohydrate biomaterial. The presented topics span from green synthesis and advanced functionalization, drug delivery, and nanotechnology to antimicrobial and anticancer therapeutic strategies. As a guest editor, I would like to sincerely thank all the contributors for their insightful manuscripts. The special issue of 25 articles includes both original articles and comprehensive reviews.
