    Electrochemical analysis of metal oxides.

  • Original language description

Applicability of powder voltammetry to analysis of inorganic solids is demonstrated by the examples of a check of the uniformity of Fe-Cr oxide solid solutions, detection of an amorphous Mn oxide in synthetic Mn-Ni oxide catalyst and natural earthy pigments, and a check of Mn valence in Li-Mn spinel-type oxide with similar to1 mg sample consumption. The reproducibility of the method of powder voltammetry was tested in an interlaboratory trial with three earthy pigments containing mainly Fe2O3 and FeOOHas coloring agents. Powder voltammetry is hence not limited to metal oxides for battery materials, but also to many further oxides of the first row transition metals.
