Comment to Ballasus et al. (2022)
Original language description
The interpretation of the sediment and soil composition needs a separation of distinct geochemical signals, what remains a challenge for data mining. The datasets by Ballasus et al. (2022) are excellent and their processing can continue, since the Weiẞe Elster floodplain sediments obviously bear valuable geochemical signals that deserve further work. Inclusion of further sediment cores would definitely be beneficial.
