An overview of nucleation experiments based on adiabatic expansion is given and the main experimental problems are discussed. In paraticular, methods of gas-vapor mixture preparation and temperature determination are considered. With respect to the specific character of the nucleation process, the measurements are very sensitive to the mixture purity.
