Transitional Processes Induced by Temperature Gradients: Heated Free Jet and Heated Coanda Flow.
Original language description
The evolution of heat and mass transfer in the initial region of a transitional hot gas plume and the Coanda flow over the curved heated surface are investigated. These transport processes are controlled and limited by the heated shear layer instability.Hot gas plume is generated by arc heater and the Coanda flow is produced by the narrow slit adjacent to the wall. The laminar-turbulent transition is controlled by the shear layer instability where interrelation of the effective thickness of the shear temperature and density layers plays decisive role.
