DC electromagnetic actuators with permanent magnets are devices with promising parameters and operation characteristics (relatively high forces at reasonable shifts) that can be used in numerous in-dustrial applications. Their properties follow particularly from the arrangement of the permanent magnets in their magnetic circuits (that may be connected in series, in parallel) or even in more com-plicated ways. The paper deals with their numerical FEM-based modeling and searching of optimal configurations. The theoretical analysis is illustrated on several examples whose results are discussed.
