Dynamic Parameters of Electromagnetic Feeder to Molten Metal
Original language description
The paper deals with numerical simulation of the dynamic phenomena in an electromagnetic feeder of molten zinc. Their mathematical model consists of one partial differential equation describing distribution of magnetic fields for various levels of zinc and a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations for the movement of zinc column caused by the electrodynamic forces acting on melt. Computations are carried out by FEM-based code Femlab and procedures developed and written by the authors in Matlab (particularly Simulink). The methodology is illustrated on an example.
