ANALYSIS OF HUMAN VOCAL TRACT FOR ORDINARY AND SINGING VOICE BY FE MODELLING

Result description

The contribution deals with the design of the finite element (FE) models of the human vocal tract for phonation of the vowel /a:/ without and with the singer?s formant. Significant changes in the dimensions of the acoustic spaces of the vocal tract and in the basic acoustic frequency ? modal characteristics of the models due to the existence of the singer?s formant are presented. The numerical simulation of phonation and its sensitivity to a dimension accuracy of the geometric model of the vocal tract was tested. The models were developed from the MR (magnetic resonance) measurements.
