Mechanism of pressure recovery in jet-type actuators
Original language description
Mechanical pulsators for generating synthetic jets may be replaced by fluidic no-moving-part valves. Paper presents an example of the valve used for flow separation control on a wing model. It had long collector diffusers, difficult to stow inside the model. Surprisingly, this study demonstrates that a substantial pressure recovery actually takes place before the flow enters the diffuser.
