Experimental study of a control synthetic jet using PIV method
Original language description
Control synthetic jet used in previous experiments [1] to control a continuous round air jet was studied using PIV method. Pulsating flow was generated at a given frequency and using a synchronizing method the velocity field of the synthetic jet was measured. First, velocity profiles of forced jet perpendicular to the jet exit plane were acquired and using them air suction and extrusion were described. After that vector maps of suction and extrusion were presented. Finally, velocity profiles on the jetaxis with different phases were obtained, and a downstream movement of vortical structures was described.
