Towards a real predicion of bone remodeling phenomenon in humans
Original language description
Mechanical loading is believed to be of very high significance as a stimulus for bone cells, which ensures proper bone strength and prevents high bone loss with age. The presented model comprises the biochemical control factors (e.g. the effects of RANKL-RANK-OPG chain may be simulated) together with the mechanical stimulation, the governing equations are derived from chemical kinetics - i.e. from non-equilibrium thermodynamics - and model parameters are measurable.
