3D Distribution of Significant Oscillations in Thermal Plasma Jet
Original language description
The aim of this work was to evaluate instabilities in a plasma jet using image analysis. We have analyzed thermal plasma jet generated by the plasma torch device. Reflecting mirrors were used to observe the jet by a hi-speed CCD camera from three directions separated by 120°. We have used those three simultaneous views to calculate 3D reconstruction of the plasma flow radiation in the jet by the method based on inverse Radon transform. Significant oscillations were identified by Fourier transform analyzing optical radiation in different areas of the jet. The oscillations differ by their origin (electric or hydrodynamic), spatial position and interact in a complex way. In this paper we describe three-dimensional distribution of these oscillations undervarious experimental conditions (different ratio of input axial and tangential gas flow rate).
