Application of advanced turbulence models for turbulent flow in a plane asymmetric diffuser
Original language description
Turbulent flow in a plane diffuser was numerically simulated using the commercial software ANSYS CFX 12.0. Besides the standard two-equation k-eps and k-omega models, advanced models like SST-SAS, RANS-LES and EARSM were tested using a well known test case - turbulent flow in a plane asymmetric diffuser. Numerical simulations were focused mainly on the ability of models to predict the extent of the separation region and the relaxation of the shear layer after the reattachment. The best results were obtained using the explicit algebraic Reynolds stress model.
