Original language description
This work investigates the means of monitoring ongoing corrosion process and of determining overall corrosion damage. Specimens made of Al-alloy with a thin protective layer of 99.5% Aluminum were studied. Corrosion tests were performed by immersion of the samples in sea salt solution and the corrosion process was monitored by acoustic emission (AE). Subsequently the samples were inspected by the two-frequency Nonlinear Wave Modulation Spectroscopy (NWMS) method.
